K12 Special Grading Code Descriptions

 

A numerical score will usually be given for an assignment’s grade.  Sometimes a symbol or letter will be used to designate the grade.  The following table lists the codes that are used and their meaning:

Incomplete

Assignment has not been assigned yet; or
Student has not yet started the assignment; or
Student’s status on the assignment is not known.

Extended
Time

Student has been given additional time to complete
the assignment (due to missed school days or other special circumstances).

Optional

Assignment is optional (not required) to be done by the student), or
Student has been excused from doing the assignment.

Usually extra credit will be given if student completes this assignment

X

Missing

Student has not handed in the assignment; but
Assignment will still be accepted for partial credit.

Work in Progress

Student has started (or is currently working on) the assignment.

g

Being
Graded

Student has handed in the assignment; but
Assignment has not yet been graded.

ok

Completed

A pass/fail assignment has been completed successfully.  This is equivalent to a 100% score.

Partly
Done

Student has handed in the assignment; but
Significant parts of the assignment are missing.

nd

Not
Done

Student has not done the required assignment.

The Teacher has not been given the student’s completed assignment.

0x

Zero

Student has made little or no effort to do the required assignment.

Special - 90

Assignment was given a score of 90%; because
Special circumstances prevented the assignment from being graded normally.

Special - 85

Assignment was given a score of 85%; because
Special circumstances prevented the assignment from being graded normally.

Special - 80

Assignment was given a score of 80%; because
Special circumstances prevented the assignment from being graded normally.

Plagiarized

Assignment appears to have been copied from another student, from the Internet, or from some other source.

Academic dishonesty relative to the assignment is suspected.
