Grades
Each student’s assignment grades will be available on the “K12 Planet” website. A conscientious attempt will be made to
update these grades on a weekly basis.
Assignment grades for all students will be available on the teacher’s
website, and on CSW’s public drive.
Additional grading data will also be available on these sites. Assignment grades will also be posted in the
classroom.
Possible grading discrepancies must be brought to the teacher’s attention
within two weeks of the grade posting.
Philosophy
Teacher believes that hands-on experience is a great way to learn new
subjects such as computer applications.
Consequently, most of the class time is allocated to students working on
assignments. §
Homework is not normally assigned.
Students may work on assignments in the computer lab (before or after
school) or at home.
Teacher will present brief lectures and demonstrations throughout the
course. In addition individual
assistance will be given to students working on their assignments.
Assignments
All assignments have been designed and written by the Teacher. No textbooks are used. §
Students will be given written instructions for all assignments. Electronic versions of these instructions
will be available on the teacher’s website and on CSW’s public drive. Support materials and required files will
also be available on these sites.
The assignment schedule including due dates will be posted in the classroom
as well as on the teacher’s website and CSW’s public drive. The schedule and due dates may be adjusted
depending upon a class’s progress.
If an assignment is submitted after its due date, then up to 5% of the
total possible points will be deducted for each day the assignment is
late. Assignments will not be accepted
more than two weeks after its due date.
Attendance
Students are expected to attend all classes.
If the student is unable to attend the class,
then it is the student’s responsibility:
·
To obtain all lecture
notes, handouts, and assignments; and
·
To arrange a schedule
with the teacher to make up any missed work.
Failure to make these arrangements (within three days of returning to
class) may result in the student forfeiting the opportunity to receive credit
for the work that was missed.
§ Digital Photography,
a new course being taught by the teacher, is structured a little
differently. About half of the class
time will be spent working through the tutorials from a training manual. The remainder of the class time will consist
of lectures, teacher led discussions on composition, and analyzing student’s
photographs. Between classes, students
will be expected to take and edit photographs.
